Not all of them are bad, Rust for example evolved into something better. Also, stay on top of the steam storepage because the one guy that plays it will talk all his friends into it because 'it's really hardcore guys and together we can totaly rock all that noobs'. Some generic crafting and resources with hunger meters and call it a survival game. Take a map, add players, add some creatures with bad ai. Mostly for two reasons: They're relatively easy to make. Steam has been swarmed with sandbox zombie survival titles. Simply add Zombies into your Singleplayer Game and modern PC users can't handle it. Nobody wondered what Alien: Isolation was supposed to be. It seems a whole generation of players now associates "Zombies" with any kind of DayZ or Minecraft clone. The confused reaction to ZOMBI really shows how prevalent those early access Sandbox Survival games have become. I can't believe how many people can't grasp its concept. There should really be a stickied thread explaining what this game is and isn't.
